Venice landmark walk: Rialto to San Marco

Venice’s collection has a Rialto-area pair and a San Marco-area pair. They are close on a map, but canals, bridge steps and narrow lanes determine the actual walk. Choose the route that works for your mobility and the day’s conditions.

Choose the walk that fits your day

A smaller first outing

Start with either Rialto and the Grand Canal Gondola pin, or St Mark’s Basilica and the Bridge of Sighs area. You do not need to cross the city for a first find.

When you have more time

Connect the two areas only after checking the pedestrian route and any access needs. A line across the Grand Canal is not a crossing, and a waterbus ride is a separate journey.

These are our editorial route suggestions, not measured itineraries or an accessibility assessment. Live Trails build from nearby available Charms and may select different stops.

The Venice collection, stop by stop

  1. 01

    Rialto Bridge

Use the Rialto area as a starting point. Avoid stopping in narrow sections of the bridge to use your phone.

  2. 02

    Grand Canal Gondola

This is a named collectible at a specific pin, not an included gondola ride or a claim zone covering the entire canal.

  3. 03

    St Mark's Basilica

Anchor the San Marco outing here, keeping visitor entrances clear. Basilica admission is separate from Passported.

  4. 04

    Bridge of Sighs

Use permitted viewpoints and the exact in-app location. Do not enter a restricted building or waterside area for a claim.

Visitor access comes first

Passported is free to download, with optional in-app purchases. It does not include attraction tickets, transport or permission to enter private areas. A Charm may be unavailable if its pin cannot be reached safely and legally. Never cross a barrier, road or waterway just to claim it.
