Rome landmark walk: Pantheon, Trevi and Spanish Steps

Rome’s central fountain-and-piazza walk links the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. The Colosseum sits farther south-east, so decide whether you want a compact central outing or a longer day before adding it.

Choose the walk that fits your day

A smaller first outing

Begin with the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Add the Spanish Steps only if you have time left after crowds, photos and breaks.

When you have more time

Visit the Colosseum in a separate session, or give the connection to the centre extra time. A booked archaeological visit is not included in a trail’s walking estimate.

These are our editorial route suggestions, not measured itineraries or an accessibility assessment. Live Trails build from nearby available Charms and may select different stops.

The Rome collection, stop by stop

  1. 01

    Pantheon

Use the surrounding piazza to orient yourself, then check the exact Charm pin. Entry arrangements for the monument are separate.

  2. 02

    Trevi Fountain

The close-up basin area introduced ticketed access in February 2026. Check the official visitor notice; do not assume every viewpoint is freely accessible.

  3. 03

    Spanish Steps

Finish the central outing here if time allows. Steps and crowds can make a short map distance slower in practice.

  4. 04

    Colosseum

Treat this as the longer extension. Stay on permitted paths and skip any claim that would require entering an area without the right ticket.

Visitor access comes first

Passported is free to download, with optional in-app purchases. It does not include attraction tickets, transport or permission to enter private areas. A Charm may be unavailable if its pin cannot be reached safely and legally. Never cross a barrier, road or waterway just to claim it.
